However, Clove has been directing since they could walk, most notably beginning to direct in their High School Theatre Department and creating multiple short films with friends. Clove is a passionate Director aiming to expand the bounds of typical proscenium theatre. The first play they directed was Sure Thing by David Ives, where Clove first found a love for directing absurdist plays.

"I believe that theatre is meant to change and adapt to the times we are living in. Theatre is meant to be absurd, experimental, and exploratory. Theatre should give audiences access to ideas they may not have considered otherwise. Theatre should adapt to attract a younger generation of artists that want so desperately to work but don’t have an outlet for their creativity and skills."

- Clove Love, Bold Voyage Magazine Feature

Clove enjoys productions that break these norms and they create shows with more involved interaction from the audience, bringing them into the world of the play, or simply asking them questions that make them think about the world around them. Clove specifically enjoys exploring the bounds of directing in absurdism, immersion, horror, social justice, and physical metaphor/movement choreography in staging and conceptual analysis as a method of theatrical storytelling.
